Vodder-Certified MLD Therapists

MLD Basic class
This is an intensive course involving extensive hands-on work. The basic strokes and their application to each body part are taught. The theory covers anatomy and physiology of the lymph vessel system, connective tissue, effects of MLD and contraindications.

MLD Therapy I class
The practical sessions of this course include special techniques for the joints, the head (including intra-oral) and abdomen. They introduce the student to therapeutic applications. A review of all Basic techniques and sequences is given.

Lymphedemas are described and how Manual Lymph Drainage can affect them. In the theory sessions, advanced theory and current research is discussed as well as a review of Basic theory. An oral, written and practical exam is given to test the student's competence in Basic techniques and theory. We are sorry we do not offer Basic and Therapy I classes in English in Austria.

MLD Therapy II & III class in English language

Description:

Successful completion of the Therapy I exam enables the student to continue to these final two courses which are taught consecutively. They cover various pathologies with an emphasis on lymphedema treatment in the context of Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT).

Theoretical instruction is given by a physician expert in the field. Bandaging and specific MLD treatments are taught. At the end of the course, students take a written and practical exam to demonstrate competence in techniques, treatment and bandaging.

Students who successfully complete the examinations may then describe themselves as Vodder-Certified MLD Therapists.

MLD Review class, July 3rd to July 7th, 2012.

We are pleased to offer another REVIEW/RE-CERTIFICATION in Walchsee. The Review will be another international one. The "official" language will be English, but you might hear other languages as well.

Those who have already been in Walchsee for such an event know that we only work during the morning. The afternoon is free for all kinds of activities – and there are lots of them.

Swimming in the lake (depending on weather conditions), paddling, hiking, mountain biking, visiting Innsbruck, Salzburg or Munich, or simply rest and enjoy the leisure time. The School offers an indoor swimming-pool, sauna, steam bath and a workout room.

We are sorry to state that the Clinic is constantly booked with patients. The participants will be accommodated in a nearby bed-and-breakfast place and can use all the facilities of the Dr. Vodder Schule.

When you come by plane please fly into Munich. On request we can organize a pick-up service from Munich Airport. We will try to bring some students together so that you can share a cab.

Coming by train the railway station is Kufstein. From there you have to take the bus or a taxi.
